Strawberry season is around the corner and so what better time to share a recipe for an easy to make dessert that is both delicious and fat free with the bonus of taking just minutes to make.Can I get a “Hallelujah”?! This recipe will make a fresh strawberry mousse or a fat free ice cream, like the one I shared previously here, when frozen.
Here are the ingredients I used:
3 egg whites
9 tbsp brown sugar (powdered)
1 pinch cream of tartar(can be substituted by salt or lemon juice )
1 box of strawberries
Sprinkle the cream of tartar on egg whites.
Beat the egg whites with an electric whisk until stiff peaks form.
Gradually add the powdered brown sugar while still mixing.Reserve some sugar for strawberries.
Add the reserved sugar to strawberries
Blend the strawberries.
Gradually add the strawberry paste to the stiff egg white mixture
while running the mixer on medium slow speed.
Mix until fully incorporated but don't over mix.
Serve right away or chilled or freeze to make ice cream.
