The starting point of a clear, glowing complexion is an efficient cleanser that also nourishes and moisturises.
One of the earliest recorded skin cleansers is COLD CREAM, invented by Galen, a Greek physician.
-was originally based on beeswax, olive oil and rosewater
-has a cooling effect on the skin
-works as a cleanser wen the oil and the wax melt on the face to loosen dirt, make-up and sebum, which can be removed swiftly with a tissue or a hot damp towel
And making this cream yourself is much easier than you thought, especially since you might have all the necessary equipment in your kitchen already. Here's how:
Prepare all ingredients and utensils.Make sure utensils and workplace are clean.
Add beeswax to oils and melt in a hot water bath.Once beeswax is melted, remove from water bath and let the mixture cool down to 50 C
While the oil+beeswax mixture cools, heat the rosewater to 50 C in a water bath. Add the citric acid and cinnamon.
Make sure both the oil+beeswax mixture and the rosewater have a temperature of around 50 C, then it’s time to emulsify the two.See video below:
